This is what it was like in europe for 1,000 years (5th-15th centuries). There was no reason/rationalization in europe at all at this time. Whenever someone was sick, they just prayed for god to help. Imagine what the world would be like if christian fanatics ruled. These idiots from the dark ages of europe didn't think that maybe people were sick because there were hundreds of rats in their houses, or that they never showered, or that their cities were so filthy all of their trash was lying in the streets and outside the city walls. Europeans invented perfumes and colognes in order to mask their odors. Who would fall for such a religion which blinds a person into believing in faith? A religion which stole the religious beliefs of the Hebrews/Jews. I wonder how the Jews feel about the Christians claiming their history as their own. The Jews are a people who have strong historical roots. They have been tormented over and over by invaders and slave masters. Anyone who can read the old testament can see this history does not belong to anyone but the Jews. It is nobody's history but their own. This is why our gente are so lost...they are following religions from foreign lands without even realizing it. Very sad. Why would any Mexican or Chicano look to a foreign religion when we have one here based on reason and not on faith. You want to see our gods? Just look at them; they are all around. In the ground, in the rain, in the air, in the sun. Praying to a jewish god in the sky when your own Mexican gods are sustaining you? As a director and his crew shoot a controversial
film about Christopher Columbus in Cochabamba, Bolivia, local people
rise up against plans to privatize the water supply. While filming,
it becomes apparent that the events that occured during the American
Holocaust were so horrendous and inhumane that they are often too
difficult to imagine.
The film masterfully
illustrates the fact that 519 years later, indigenous people still
endure oppression at the hands of the european invaders proving that
only time separates the 16th century european invaders from their
modern-day descendants. Featured Link: "If Brown (vs. Board of Education) was just about letting Black people into a White school, well we don’t care about that anymore. We don’t necessarily want to go to White schools. What we want to do is teach ourselves, teach our children the way we have of teaching. We don’t want to drink from a White water fountain...We don’t need a White water fountain. So the whole issue of segregation and the whole issue of the Civil Rights Movement is all within the box of White culture and White supremacy. We should not still be fighting for what they have. We are not interested in what they have because we have so much more and because the world is so much larger. And ultimately the White way, the American way, the neo liberal, capitalist way of life will eventually lead to our own destruction. And so it isn’t about an argument of joining neo liberalism, it’s about us being able, as human beings, to surpass the barrier." - Marcos Aguilar (Principal, Academia Semillas del Pueblo)
